ABOUT

Sandi has been a full time fiber artist since 1987. After graduating from Penn State University and starting a family, she began working for a local craft co-op, sewing at home. During this time she also apprenticed under an Amish master quilter for a year through a program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts. The color and design possibilities in quilting quickly became a passion for her. She was hired by the co-op to design quilts and table linens, and market them at wholesale shows in New York. After 5 years in this position, she left to start her own business. Her art quilts have appeared in such publications as: Art Quilt Magazine, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, Celebrate Pennsylvania, and State College Magazine. She has won numerous adwards for her work at art fairs around the country.

After 20 years making art quilts, Sandi has shifted her focus to fabric dyeing and creating intricate framed pieces. Her work is known for it's intense color, and dyeing her own fabric allows her to get the exact hue and saturation she wants. With her two passions together, dyeing and piecing, the framed work is takiing her in a new and very exciting direction.
